During the pandemic, while working as an Account Manager for a large stone fabricator, I seized the opportunity to pursue my passion for design and enrolled in an Interior Design Diploma program. It was during this time that I deepened my understanding of design concepts such as spatial planning, colour theory, materials selection, and lighting design. I also had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and technologies in the industry, and to develop my own unique design aesthetic. I learned how to create functional and visually pleasing spaces by using the principles of scale, balance, and proportion, and utilizing tools like AutoCAD and SketchUp to convey my ideas. I also learned the importance of ergonomics and how to design spaces that are not only beautiful but also comfortable and accessible.
With my newfound knowledge and skills, I began to work with contractors and clients as an Interior Designer. My background in customer service proved to be an invaluable asset, as it enabled me to communicate effectively with my clients, understand their needs and preferences, and collaborate with them to bring their vision to life. I have had the privilege of working on a wide range of projects, each one presenting its own set of challenges. I have found that my background in customer service, coupled with my passion for design, has allowed me to overcome many obstacles and deliver exceptional results.
When I am not working, you can find me whipping up a batch of cookies or testing a new recipe, reading the latest thriller novel, watching The Real Housewives, or spending time with my partner Michael and our cat Mia at our home in Downtown Toronto.
